Crater Lake

Crater Lake National Park is really beautiful, and the lake is extremely blue. I have never seen a lake so blue before.   It was one of the most pretty lakes that I have ever seen.  There were these really thin lines of gold on the edge of the lake.  It was extremely interesting to see.  Crater lake is part of an ancient volcano that blew up and filled with water.

"Its depth of 1,943 feet makes it one of the deepest lakes in the United States, and the ninth world wide.  The fresh water is some of the clearest that is found anywhere in the world.  The interaction of people with this place is traceable to at least as far back as the eruption of Mount Mazama.  The park was founded on May 22, 1902."  (National Park Service, N.D.)

Wizard Island with little steps leading out to it.

Wizard Island in Crater Lake.  Wizard Island is a vent that opened up with the crater collapsed on itself.

The gold strands that are on the edge of the lake.  They were extremely metallic and reflective.  I had never seen anything like this before.
